INTER-CLUB
CHALLENGE POINTS SYSTEM
After some
friendly
chats and the hurling of a few insults
between Mornington Peninsula
Athletic Club and Mornington Peninsula Tri
Club a system of deciding
which club maintains running supremacy has
been developed. Other clubs
and organizations are warmly invited to join
in the challenge.
In the Club
Challenge
calculations there are only two age groups.
U/17 and 17 or over. You
accumulate points for your club in one of
those categories - not both.
(This differs from the medal categories on
offer where it is possible
to pick up a medal for say winning your age
group and for coming
1st-3rd overall.)

Points will
be awarded
in each of those categories. 10 points for
first, 9 points for second,
8 points for 3rd, 7 points for 4th, 6 points
for 5th, 5points for 6th,
4 points for 7th, 3 points for 8th, 2 points
for 9th, and 1 point for
each finisher thereafter in that category.
The club
with the
highest accumulation of points under this
system wins.
Collating
the results
for the Club Challenge is unlikely to be
possible on the day and will
have to be announced during the week
following the Devilbend Half
Marathon.
A full
transcript of
results will be provided to rival clubs so
they can identify what club
members are theirs. Members must be current
members at the date of the
race.
The 2010
Inter-Club
Challenge was won by MPAC with MPTC
receiving the ceremonial wooden
spoon.
